Why do I need to do Work Placement, and why is it mandatory?

We understand that Work Placement can be both an exciting and stressful experience. It is important to understand why you are required to complete Work Placement and how it will benefit you in the future.

Work Placement provides practical training for students. You will work under the supervision of an industry professional in a real workplace. The Work Placement enables you to practice and develop the skills that you have learned in a classroom setting and apply these to a professional workplace environment.

Your Work Placement is mandatory because it forms an essential part of your education and overall assessment. It will demonstrate your ability to observe regulations and guidelines in an industry environment. It is essential that you follow these guidelines to ensure you provide a professional service and to a very high standard.

Before you can graduate from your course, you will need to have completed all Work Placement hours. For more information on required hours, check out How many hours of work placement do I need to complete?
