If you need a break from your studies, you can request a suspension after your course has started. Suspensions can be granted for up to six months, but they must be for compassionate or compelling reasons, such as a serious illness or a family emergency.
To apply, simply complete the Course Suspension Request Form and provide any supporting documentation, like a medical certificate. Be sure your fees are up-to-date before submitting your request. We will review your application and aim to provide an outcome within 10 business days.
Before applying, we recommend discussing your situation with your Education Agent, the Department of Home Affairs, or our Student Experience Team. They can provide advice on how a suspension might affect your Student Visa or future course plans.
