Can my student go on holiday for 3 weeks during the term to attend a personal event overseas?

We want our students to enjoy the holidays and re-energise between terms. However, once term starts, we expect our students to attend all of their classes and focus on achieving their goals.


The students’ absence from classes should only occur in cases of illness or exceptional personal circumstances. The students’ attendance will be monitored and recorded in Canvas, and warning letters will be sent on week 4 and 8 of each term for the students at risk of not meeting the attendance requirements. At the end of the term, ALG will consider the students that have not attended 80% of the subject and will send them an intention to Report letter informing that under the ESOS Act, ALG intends to notify the Department of Home Affairs.
